Great performances in general, and a fun diversion, but you’ll want the audiobook if you want to get all of the authors’ trademark turns of phrase。
Trish Mayhew,
A really fun audio book, very well narrated with tongue in cheek humor。 Based on a revelation plan that went wrong。
Grace Marcroft,
Delightful, surprising and at times laugh out loud hilarious。I won't go further with this review because others will do a much better job than I, however, I do appreciate these BBC dramatizations very much。The story itself was not particularly long。 A good story when you have a few hours to fill。Would recommend。I give Good Omens four stars。 Delightful, surprising and at times laugh out loud hilarious。I won't go further with this review because others will do a much better job than I, however, I do appreciate these BBC dramatizations very much。The story itself was not particularly long。 A good story when you have a few hours to fill。Would recommend。I give Good Omens four stars。 。。。more

Great cast。 The dramatization and what exactly was happening got a bit blurry around the edges at certain parts, but overall, a decent bit of audio。
Lauren Stoolfire,
I love this novel so much and the production of this full cast radio show adaptation was awesome。 Peter Serafinowicz makes an amazing Crowley and it was such a pleasant surprise glad when I realized Newton Pulsifer was voiced by Colin Morgan。 I couldn't help but have the tv adaptation in the back of my mind while doing this reread。 I just need to rematch the series - to help prepare myself for season two! an absolutely marvellous dramatisation of the novel。 felt like i was watching it happen in front of me。

A very fun version of dramatization。
Yasmina Havnen,
This was really fun to listen to。 :)

Where do I start with this?? It was FANTASTIC! A humorous pre-apocalyptic story that gives hints of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Good Omens follows the angel Aziraphale and his BFF Anthony Crowley (a demon) as they try to save Earth from complete destruction at the hands of the Antichrist—an 11-year-old boy。 I've never read the book (don't worry, it's on hold at the library), but in my limited opinion, Dirk Maggs did an excellent job dramatizing the story。 I normally hate Where do I start with this?? Sohee,
Full disclosure: I have never listened to a "dramatisation"/"radio play" before, and I did NOT know what I was getting myself into。 I've listened to American Gods and The Graveyard Book as pure audiobooks, which I THOROUGHLY enjoyed, so when I saw that there was a whole BBC cast involved, I figured it was the same thing as an audiobook and decided to try it out。 Very high production quality for sure, and I thought the actors were well-cast and very convincing 。。。 but at times, the dramatic music Full disclosure: I have never listened to a "dramatisation"/"radio play" before, and I did NOT know what I was getting myself into。 I've listened to American Gods and The Graveyard Book as pure audiobooks, which I THOROUGHLY enjoyed, so when I saw that there was a whole BBC cast involved, I figured it was the same thing as an audiobook and decided to try it out。 Very high production quality for sure, and I thought the actors were well-cast and very convincing 。。。 but at times, the dramatic music and the sound effects were distracting, and I would get confused because only the dialogue was being read aloud, with no narration of what was going on。 I really enjoy how Neil Gaiman writes (not just the dialogue bits), and I've heard so many good things about Terry Pratchett's works, so I'm disappointed that my intro to their collaboration was this。 Ah well—no more radio plays for me。 。。。more
Ailsa,
Brilliant adaptation。 I haven’t read the full book but I need to now。 The whole cast were excellent。 Not one to listen to before bed because of the sound effects though!
Cindy,
I liked this book 。 It’s an easy read that I finished in one sitting。 I read it before the movie was released on Amazon Prime which I also liked。 If you like British humor this book is for you。
Janet,
This was a good story about how the planed end of the world is disrupted for a another day。 The Antichrist is missing and the hunt begins。 When it’s discovered the baby has been switched and raised by different parents。 This was a fun adventure, listening to the sound effects of an old time radio show。
Bridget,
It was easy for my mind to wander in this dramatization。 We restarted it after the first 20 minutes because my son and I had no idea what was going on。 Anyway, at the end of each section (like every 20-30 minutes) there was a full reading of the credits。 It would've been far less disruptive and easy to follow if it weren't for that constant interruption。 Ugh。 I did like the surprise ending, though。 It wasn't a surprise in hindsight。 It was totally in line with what the character development had It was easy for my mind to wander in this dramatization。 We restarted it after the first 20 minutes because my son and I had no idea what was going on。 Anyway, at the end of each section (like every 20-30 minutes) there was a full reading of the credits。 It would've been far less disruptive and easy to follow if it weren't for that constant interruption。 Ugh。 I did like the surprise ending, though。 It wasn't a surprise in hindsight。 It was totally in line with what the character development had been built up to be。 Anyway, it was fun to meet the "antiChrist" himself and interesting that his name is Adam。 Ha ha。 。。。more

I listened to the audiobook and would highly recommend; the narration is lively and really helps get you into the novel。 I really enjoyed the style of Gaiman and Prachett working together。 The sarcasm and humor in this book is enough to make it worthy of suggesting to friends! I haven’t been into comedies for awhile now。 I read this based on a recommendation - and for what it is, it’s good。 Really good - Hitchhikers Guide good。 Witty, off-beat British humor - that for me, sometimes gets in the way of the plot。 That’s the point of a book like this, though, the comedic red herrings are part of the purpose of the book。 If you’re hankering for something funny, definitely put this one on your list。 As for me - I’ll put this on my “come back to it” list, for when I’m into c I haven’t been into comedies for awhile now。 I read this based on a recommendation - and for what it is, it’s good。 Really good - Hitchhikers Guide good。 Witty, off-beat British humor - that for me, sometimes gets in the way of the plot。 That’s the point of a book like this, though, the comedic red herrings are part of the purpose of the book。 If you’re hankering for something funny, definitely put this one on your list。 As for me - I’ll put this on my “come back to it” list, for when I’m into comedies again。 。。。more

This is brilliant。 The TV series with David Tennant and Michael Sheen is even better than this radio dramatisation。 Guess I should read the book as well!

i have read the book, seen the series, and listened to the audiobook。 This is a fantastic afternoon's pleasure listening to the BBC Radio production of a classic book collaboration。 For those familiar with the series, this will be very close to that presentation。 The BBC does a spectacular job with a full-cast。 i have read the book, seen the series, and listened to the audiobook。 This is a fantastic afternoon's pleasure listening to the BBC Radio production of a classic book collaboration。 For those familiar with the series, this will be very close to that presentation。 The BBC does a spectacular job with a full-cast。 。。。more

This is both an amazing book and TV show。 I recently watched the show, re-read the book, and reviewed it online。 I first read it years ago at University。 This amazing book is a spoof of the Omen movie, and yet so much more。 This book got me reading both Terrie Pratchett and Gaiman, and is a must-read for all fiction fans。 Hear my full review on YouTube at user Andrea Menzies or at my podcast episodes at FH7PUBLISHING。com

Before talking about how I feel about Good Omens the necessity of comprehending how both of the writers worked is INEFFABLE。 (Inside joke, read it)[WHO WROTE WHAT? Terry physically wrote more of Draft 1 than Neil。 But if 2,000 words are written down after a lot of excited shouting, it’s a moot point whose words they are。 And, in any case, as a matter of honour both of them rewrote and footnoted the other guy’s stuff, and both can write passably in the other one’s style。 The Agnes Nutter scenes a Before talking about how I feel about Good Omens the necessity of comprehending how both of the writers worked is INEFFABLE。 (Inside joke, read it)[WHO WROTE WHAT? I began to listen to it through a dull drive and when I stopped I kinda forget about it until this week。 Still, it was a very nice (yes I use NICE intentionally) dramatization。 I like that Pratchett & Gaiman was in the audio - kinda cute。
